Your translator and interpreter, Matt Rouge
Born in Indianapolis in 1971, I have had a life path that has taken me to Northwest Indiana and Chicago, across the sea to Japan, and back to the Circle City. Thanks to my family, friends, and mentors, I have been able to receive a good education, meet lots of interesting people in the East and West, and work for some pretty amazing companies in the United States and Japan. Writing has always been a big part of my educational and professional career, and today some of the world’s largest companies entrust me with advertising and PR work on a regular basis. The following are some of the reasons why I might be a good choice to help you in your business as well.
Education
From 1989 to 1992, I attended Loyola University Chicago, majoring in philosophy. My professors were tough, requiring me to write clear, concise, and structured papers–experience that now helps me develop clear, concise, and structured content for your business. In 2000, I earned a Master of Science and Management (MSM) degree from Purdue’s Krannert School of Management, typically ranked among the top 25 business schools. My Krannert education helps me understand the problems and opportunities your company faces and create content that reflects your marketing strategy appropriately.
Work experience
You can view my full resume by taking a look at my LinkedIn profile. I have worked for a major consumer products company in the US, for drug companies in both the US and Japan, for a small trading company in Japan, and for a major semiconductor equipment company in Japan. I have a good understanding of both marketing and operations in a wide variety of industries and can most likely hit the ground running in writing for your business, too.
Life experience
I’m proud of the things I’ve accomplished in my career, but my eight years in Japan taught me true humility. When I arrived in 1992, I could not do what every child and adult around me could: speak Japanese. Nor did I understand even the basics of how to get around in the big city or operate successfully in that society. Learning the Japanese language and culture was the greatest challenge of my life and taught me how limited my knowledge can be. I will approach working with you with the humility I learned in Japan, seeking to understand your business on a deep level and creating content tailored specifically to your needs.
